Full day excursion to Bled, Monday 12 July (for accompanying persons)

Often described as the “Image of Paradise”, the Alpine resort town of Bled will enchant you with its emerald-green lake, fairytale-like island and imposing castle reigning on top of a rocky cliff.

After an enjoyable drive, we board a traditional “pletna” boat and smoothly glide over the lake to visit the only Slovenian island. Its top is crowned with a little church, and you will have an opportunity to ring the mysterious wishing bell. A scenic road takes us around the lake and to the medieval castle perched high on a cliff. Before returning to Ljubljana, enjoy a stroll by the lake or treat yourself to the famous Bled cream-cake.

Tourist bus transport; English speaking guide; Bled castle; boat ride; island church; 3 course lunch.

The mesmerizing beauty of the Postojna Caves and the mysterious castle of Predjama rank among the most precious jewels of Slovenia. We will explore the wonderful underground world and excite our imagination in a striking medieval castle. After an unforgettable underground train ride to the heart of the cave system, experienced guides will accompany you on a walk through the subtly lit fairy-tale like underground world. Back in the daylight, the trip will continue towards the astonishing castle of the robber knight Erasmus. Driving through green scenery, we return to Ljubljana.

Full day excursion to Portorož and Piran – Touch of Mediterranean, Thursday 15 July

Slovenia’s coast charms with its inviting towns, rich history and clear sea. On our day at the seaside we visit the pretty fishing town of Izola, discover the beauties of the medieval town of Piran and the sunny Portorož.

Passing through a varied landscape, we reach the sparkling Mediterranean. Izola was once a modest fishermen’s village; today, it is a flourishing town with a lot of soul. The gem of the Slovenian coast is the medieval Piran, tucked in between the sea and the mighty town walls, having strong links with Venice. Portorož is a contrast to historic Piran, being a mundane resort town whose lively atmosphere you can enjoy during free time. We will visit the ancient saltpans in Seča, which have been granted the status of a Natural Park. Harvesting the white gold from the sea has been an important source of income for the local people for over 700 years. In Piran we will sit in one of the coast restaurants to taste the sea delicacies.

Cost: €75
Tourist bus transport; English speaking guide; visit of Izola town; visit of Piran; e/f to salt pans Sečovlje; 3 course lunch in traditional fish restaurant in Piran (drinks excluded).

The vaporetto (water bus) will take you from Tronchetto along the canals to St.Mark's square. In Venice there is so much to see, the Doge's palace, the St.Mark's basilica, the Bridge of Sighs, the Rialto Bridge and hundreds of canals and bridges. Optional we offer a gondola ride along the Grande Canal.

Cost: €130
