Abstract
In recent years there has been considerable advancement in technological tools to support the teaching and learning of statistics. Given that many of these developments are in English, the learning process may be compromised due to a natural language barrier presented by the various linguistic characteristics of a student’s first language. This session will explore new software developments and smartphone applications that can be used to overcome some of these barriers. Thus, a discussion on how these technological tools, when taught in a student’s native language, may have an impact on the learning and teaching process is expected.
