Abstract

Over three years Statistics New Zealand has developed a Certificate in Official Statistics for Public Servants working in Government Departments in New Zealand who use statistics but have had little training in the subject. The Certificate has also been taught with success in the Pacific Islands. This meeting will discuss where we go next. Currently a set of apps are being developed covering content. The apps have potential for other parts of the world and the Centre for Statistics Education at Plymouth University could be a suitable home for the apps. The apps will be free to use. They will have the facility for any country to load their own data which will add contexts and attraction for many. Potential for outreach is considerable. Questions will be answered and ideas about the future will be investigated.
