Teaching Introductory Statistics with Simulation-Based Inference

Description

This workshop is intended for teachers of introductory statistics at tertiary and advanced secondary levels. The workshop provides classroom activities for introducing students to the logic and scope of statistical inference centering on a simulation-based approach. Freely available applets, which emphasize visualization of concepts, will be used throughout the workshop. We will discuss ideas for implementation and assessment of a simulation-based approach in a variety of courses and educational setting.
