Abstract
Sessions in this topic will explore ways that statistical literacy has shaped and continues to shape society, as well as the needs for developing statistical literacy in the future. Continuing changes in technology, the ubiquity of data and tools for analyzing data, legal and cultural reactions to data privacy, the increasing importance of data security: these all drive the need for improving statistical literacy. Papers submitted under this topic may include, but are not limited to, descriptions of novel approaches to statistical literacy, historical overviews concerning statistical literacy, methods for evaluating and for defining statistical literacy.
