Abstract

In Japan, the new national guideline for school education was addressed in March 2017. The main object of this reform was a promotion of statistics education. In November 2017, we conducted a survey concerning junior high school Japanese teachers' understanding of statistics education. As a result, it has revealed that their understanding of the aim of the guidelines is weak. For that reason, we propose our class teaching plan on solving problems with "Box whisker plots" which is newly included in the junior high school courses, and we show some points of guidance through practical lessons.
