In recent days, new social phenomena such as social and economic networks or financial literacy should emerge within the courses of economics, sociology education. College statistics courses also could embed these topics for several reasons. First, to develop specific skills related to data analysis and the usage of new statistical tools provided by ProCivicStat and second, to develop general (i.e. not statistics-related) knowledge such as sound financial decision-making. In our study, we present lesson plans along the above mentioned topics with the use of the PCS framework which enable students to discover real datasets in a practical way. Our study summarizes our experiences and provides comments and recommendations for future development opportunities.
