Research into learning statistics in vocational educational and training



Statistics is used in many professions and is therefore the topic of many courses in vocational schools and companies. Process improvement and business programmes involve a variety of statistical techniques which may be used by, for example, operators, shift leaders, supervisors, managers or engineers in industrial sectors, but also by sales agents, back office staff and human resources staff in other sectors. Data are all around us and most employees or future employees have to deal with them, using technology.

Yet there is still little educational research on learning statistics as part of vocational education or training.
