Abstract
The statistical programming language R has become a major competitor in the field of statistics education software. R is free, and the RStudio interface has made it simpler for novices to use. In addition, the development of the so-called `tidyverse’ of packages has simplified the syntax necessary to accomplish introductory statistics tasks. But, should all statistics students be programmers?
