Abstract
Although statistical literacy is still an increasingly important skill in modern society, statistics is faced by different challenges. Some of these challenges will be discussed in this session: Paper 1 refers to an ambiguity of statistics concerning the aim of statistics to represent and to measure. Paper 2 addresses the relationship between statistics and mathematics. Finally, paper 3 focuses on the demand for new ways of visualizing data given the complexity of public available data.
