Abstract
Universities are slow to bring their curricula in line with industry needs; it takes months to amend curricula. As a result, they are producing graduates who do not have sufficient skills or the knowledge that businesses requires as the business world changes at a faster rate than the universities can respond. Curricula are historically developed from an academic point of view, with the main focus being on producing academic research and post graduate students to push the boundaries of the discipline. This session will focus on collaborative projects between universities and industry, aimed at overcoming the problems outlined above, thereby increasing the flow of “job ready” statisticians into the workplace
