Abstract

Women are underrepresented in the R community. R-Ladies is a worldwide organization with a mission to increase gender diversity through meetings and mentorship. Currently, there are more than 50 R-Ladies chapters, in more than 20 countries. Each chapter brings together women from different disciplines, with varying degrees of R knowledge at different stages of their career. In this session, we will report statistics from the global R-Ladies community, as well as, local chapters in the United States, Argentina, and Turkey. In addition, we will share our experiences regarding logistics of running local chapters in three different continents. We will present impact of this network and some of the challenges that we faced.
